For the first time, the new Council of the District Local Government Organization of Larnaka (DLGOL) met yesterday afternoon under the chairmanship of its President, Angelos Hadjicharalambous, in the meeting room of the Technical Services of the DLGOL. Mr. Alkis Anastasiades, Larnaka Municipal Councillor, was elected as First Vice President of the Council and Mr. Iakovos Stefanou, President of the Ayios Theodoros Community Council, was elected as Second Vice President.

Subsequently, seven Committees were established to study, prepare and submit to the Council proposals and recommendations regarding the purpose for which each Committee was formed.

The members of the Council stated that each of them, with consistency and a sense of responsibility, will serve the Council and contribute with their expertise and experience to the smooth and efficient operation of the DLGOL. The aim is to create a strong organization of which the citizens of Larnaka will feel proud, recognizing the multiple benefits it will bring to their daily lives through the provision of upgraded services alongside prompt and efficient service.

The Council of the DLGOL Larnaka consists of sixteen (16) members, in addition to the President of the DLGOL. Ten (10) members originate from the Municipalities and the remaining six (6) from the Community Clusters.
