It is with great pleasure and a sense of responsibility that I welcome you to the Larnaka District Local Government Organization (DLGOL), which is the largest and most important step in the direction of the reform of Local Government in our country.
As President of this new Organization, I pledge to serve with dedication, consistency and efficiency to achieve its goals, vision and mission.
The Larnaka District Local Government Organization was created to improve the infrastructure and services offered to citizens. Among our core responsibilities are the management of water and sewerage systems, development permitting, and stormwater and green spot management.
Our goal is to ensure that these services are provided to high standards of quality and efficiency, always with respect for the environment and improving the quality of life for citizens.
The success of this organisation must be the result of the collective effort and cooperation between local authorities and central government and I am confident that with the support of all of you, we will be able to achieve our goals and provide the citizens of Larnaka County with the services they deserve.
I invite you to actively participate in this effort, to share your views and ideas and to contribute in your own way to our common effort for a better and more sustainable society.
I assure you that all of us, the Board of Directors and Staff of the Larnaka District Local Government Organization (DLGOL), will work together with our sole focus on the development of our city and province and the well-being of our citizens.

Angelos Hadjicharalambous

Mr. Angelos Hadjicharalambous assumed the office of President of Larnaka District Local Government Organization (DLGOL) on July 1, 2024, following an election.
He was born on 4 June 1971.
He is a graduate of the American Academy in Larnaka and served his military service as a Reserve Artillery Lieutenant.
He holds the following degrees: BEng – Bachelor in Engineering – Electrical and Electronic Engineering (City University London) – Degree 1st class honors, MSc – Master in Science – Information Engineering (City University London) with Distinction, MBA – Master in Business Administration (Kingston University London) with Merit
In 1995 he was employed by Larnaka Sewerage Board (LAR) in the position of Electrical Engineering Technician.
Subsequently, he held the positions of Electrical Engineer and Head of the Operations and Maintenance Department.
In 2018, he was appointed as General Manager of Larnaka Sewerage Board, where he served until June 2024.
He was a member of the Advisory Committee for Water Management (ACWM) and EurEU (The European Federation of National Associations of Water Services).
He was the Project Manager of the Temporary Coordinating Council for the establishment of the Larnaka District Municipality.
He is married to Lisa Papazachariou and they have a son, Charalambos.
