EMAS International Standard: EOAL was certified according to the EMAS Eco-Management and Audit Scheme

District Local Government Organization of Larnaka (EOAL) successfully completed the verification process and received official certification under the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) in accordance with the criteria and requirements of Regulation (EC) No. 1221/2009 of the European Parliament.

EMAS is a voluntary tool of the European Union, designed for businesses and other organizations, which commits them to evaluate, manage and improve their environmental performance. This System offers a systematic approach to reducing the environmental impacts that may arise from the activities of an organization and contributes to addressing the increasing expectations of consumers for products and services with low environmental cost. Essentially, EMAS was designed to help organizations and businesses enhance their competitiveness by improving their environmental performance.

Obtaining this specific certification demonstrates in practice the commitment of EOAL to continuous improvement in relation to the Organization’s environmental footprint, the proper management of resources and the transparency of the operations implemented. It also demonstrates the commitment of EOAL to sustainable development in relation to the Organization, its partners and the local community.
