The establishment of regular meetings in order to expand cooperation with journalists and exchange views was announced by the President of the Larnaka District Local Government Organization, Mr. Angelos Hadjicharalambous, during today’s meeting.

At the same time, he expressed his thanks for the long-standing support and cooperation and assured the journalists that today’s meeting is the trigger for a continuous and two-way information, aiming at the daily contact of the citizen with the services and actions of the Larnaka District Local Government Organisation (LDLGO). Through the opening of the communication channel between the Organisation and the journalists, one of the main objectives of the LDLGO for full transparency and provision of continuous information to the citizens of Larnaka District is achieved at the same time.

The President also referred to the operation of a 24-hour Public Service Line, which is a concern of the Organisation for the uninterrupted service of the citizens. Furthermore, he informed about the operation of the two Service Centres in Larnaka District and mentioned that by September 1st 2024, the operation of three additional Citizen Service Offices is expected to be opened in the Municipalities of Athienou, Dromolaxia-Meneou and Lefkara. He left open the possibility of creating further Citizen Service Offices, where and when necessary.

Finally, Mr. Hadjicharalambous announced the intention of the Organization to create a privately owned building similar and worthy of the prestige of the Larnaka District Local Government Organisation (LDLGO), in which all the services provided by the Organization will be concentrated: Water Supply, Sewerage, Development Licensing and Green Points.

This was followed by an open discussion during which questions were asked about the operation of the Larnaka District Local Government Organisation (LDLGO).
