We are pleased to inform you that as of July 1, 2024, Water, Sewerage, Solid Waste Management and Licensing for Property Development services are now provided by a new single local entity, the District Local Government Organization of Larnaka (DLGOL) established with the aim of servicing the public faster and reducing bureaucracy.

The DLGOL  has takeover  the services provided by the, now abolished, Larnaka Water Board and Larnaka Sewerage and Drainage Board, the The Council for the Exploitation of the Places of Disposal or Utilization of Household Waste in the Larnaka  District (the latter will apply from 2027, except for the operation and management of Green Points which are immediately  taken over by the EOAL). Also, the DLCOL has taken over the operation of property development licensing, which before 1st July 2024, was performed by the District Housing and Town Planning Office,  Municipalities and the District Administration Office.

You can access more information about the DLGOL services through our website eoal.org.cy, email us at csd@eoal.org.cy or call our 24-hour helpline at 24 501 000.

Water fee bills (invoices) issued by a Municipalities/Councils regarding water consumption or water supply or water supply installation before July 1, 2024, cannot be settled through the DLGOL. Such amounts remain payable to the issuing Municipality/Council.

  • Frequency of bill issuance by the DLGOL
  1. Water Bills

Water bills, including sewer service usage charge where applicable, will be issued on a quarterly basis.  For the residents of some Municipalities/Councils where the water supply in now taken over by the DLGOL, the 1st billing period may be delayed, due to issues relating to the transfer of data from the previous water authority.

  1. b) Sewerage bills

For the year 2024, the sewerage and drainage bill will be sent in one installment, by September 2024, and will be payable by November 30 of the same year.

  • Tariff for water bills

The DLGOL offers the following tariffs:

  • Household consumers (Tariff for domestic consumption)
  • Commercial and Industrial Tariff (for consumptions over 150 m2/quarter)
  • Tariff for vulnerable consumer groups (ex. welfare benefit recipients)
  • Tariff for Public/Council Fields and Livestock purposes

Change of tariff takes place upon request and if certain criteria are met. For more information, visit our website.

  • Guarantees

Consumers who have deposited a bill payment guarantee with their Municipality/ Council should contact the Municipality/Council for the return of their guarantee, since the financial guarantees are not transferred to the DLGOL.

  • Apartment Complexes – Central Meter Charge

For apartment complexes with a central meter, the difference is charged to the individual premises in proportion to their consumption.

We urge management committees to request the installation of an independent meter for communal water supply needs (e.g. gardens, swimming pools, etc.).
